News is doing the rounds that a prequel to the hit movie ‘Gangaajal’ is being planned. Maven filmmaker Prakash Jha and skilful actor Ajay Devgn, who came together around a decade back for the action drama flick, are looking to make a comeback with a prequel.
Gangaajal, a powerful drama revolving around the Bhagalpur blinding incidents, was declared above average at Indian box-office.
Sources suggest that it was while working on ‘Satyagraha’, Jha conveyed his idea of making a prequel to ‘Gangaajal.’
A source close to the filmmaker revealed - "During the making of Satyagraha, Prakash Jha had discussed the idea of a prequel with Ajay Devgn. He loved the concept and told him to go ahead with it, and Jha told his team of writers to start working on the script. Ajay is currently busy with Prabhudeva's ‘Action Jackson’ but he is in touch with Jha about the developments in the script."
Devgn and Jha have worked together earlier in films like ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Apaharan’.
